Six-Time Indy Starter Karl Dies At 66

Six-time Indianapolis 500 starter Jerry Karl died last weekend due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Baltimore. Karl made his Indy starts between 1973 and 1981, but attended the event regularly from 1970-1985 in attempting to make the race. He usually drove for under-funded teams.
